Has anyone replaced a serpentine belt on a 3rd gen? If so what were your miles approximately? Mine sounds like its needing replacement. Either that or the idler pulleys.... figured I would do the belt first though.

What makes you think its a belt?
If a chirping sound is the reason, that could be the HPFP, which is a known issue. Not major and not widespread, but known.

Mostly because this is the way I purchased my truck. It has been exposed a little. But I will look into the fuel pump as well. Perhaps I can stethoscope it.

Should look good when complete, but man I am seeing a lot of uneven gaps there.

It's like a $30 part. I would have just replaced it when the front end was off and it was easy to get to. Check the ribs on the belt, are they cracked at all?

How many miles since repaired? If it started the noise right after you restarted it then my bet is on a pulley. If it's been several miles then my bet is on misalignment of one of the pulleys.

Yeah she's a little tweaked but if the price is right and it makes sense who cares. Buy the MF'er add some panels and hit the road. Who cares about how "perfect" it is? As long as internally she's sound who cares. Props op.

Belt should last well over 100K,have seen some with Gen 2's with 150-200K on the original belt

If its not cracked its fine

Looks like it's the upper idler pulley. Got all dried out when it didn't have any clothes on...

Lot of work left as far as alignment of panels. It's that damn inner fender sub assembly on the passenger side.

    Still tweaked.
