I missed the previous post that explains it all. That she sounds like quite a procedure and I can only imagine the cost involved. The main thing is he’s happy and healthy. I’m really interested to see a video clip of how agile he is. Animals in general, particularly cats, are so dang resilient and make people just seem so pathetic. The things we complain about on a daily basis probably wouldn’t phase a cat... other than not getting enough sleep.

we had an orange stray cat that was here for a while then disappeared, a year or so later I went to a neighbors house to pick up something and there he was...with his new kitty...guess the cat found something better at the neighbors;)

Thanks for asking! Suki is going well and so far no symptoms requiring us to start her on the steroids. She has lost quite a bit of weight (1.5#) but she was a little bit on the full size to begin with. Vet said it is something we need to keep an eye on though as cats aren’t designed to break down and live off there body fat. It causes some other disease but can’t remember what he called. it messes with liver somehow. Anyway, I’m still sooooo careful picking her up, but today I picked her up and layed her over my shoulder. 1 of her most favorite spots. Needless to say we’re both happy getting back into our normal day to day routines. I’m just so tired of being stressed out about this.

I can understand that. My cat seems to lick the hair off his butt every beginning of summer and I don't know why. Vet stated allergies to fleas, but he has no fleas thanks to a seresto collar I got. I don't think its stress because he has everything he could possibly need. However, I cannot recall if this started before or after I acquired the new boy. About 3 years younger than him.

    Drives me nuts.

Those things are so frustrating!!! I just wish there was a way we could ask them how they’re feeling or what’s bugging them. On the other had, good thing we can’t tslk to them because I’d probably be in deep shit for all the things they would tell my wife or they’d be blackmailing me a lot!
You kitty could be dealing with many things. Like your vet said, flea allergies, food allergies and possibly excessive grooming from whatever causes that. I’d imaging cats can have allergies from environmental conditions just like we do. Grew up having hay fever like crazy now that I’m a working adult I have hayte going to work allergy.

Really nice day here in SoCal. Low 70’s we decided to bring Suki outside for a little change of scenery. She was verrry closely supervise for the 15 minutes or so that she was out. D87A2BA9-97C6-4BDD-8E26-0F5B76C6ECB9.jpg

The liver thing is hepatitis, which is just a fancy way of saying liver inflammation. We can get it from a virus (Hep-A, Hep-B, etc.), from metabolic damage (too much booze, too much Tylenol, etc.) or a bunch of other reasons. Cats apparently get it if they lose weight too fast and have to start burning liver fat reserves. Most mammals don't have this issue - more evidence that cats are from Mars. We had to keep a close eye on our Ginger's liver function test while she was on a diet. Got her down from 14 to 11.5 pounds, but were told to go slow.
