Just as the title implies. I write this from the cabin of my car as of current. AC is on. Windows up, recirculation on and this system cannot cool an interior to save it's life at idle. I am near close to sweating actually. I get moving, and there goes all feeling in my hands. Totally frozen.

Anyone got any suggestions to improve cabin temps while at a stop?

Updated: Please see page 36 for solutions in place by @loginfailed @Roostfactor, and myself... thanks for everyone's input!

Please tell me you rolled down the windows to let the hot interior air out before turning recirc on.

But I reread and see it’s while at idle. How long has your truck been on/AC running?

Once my truck gets going I can freeze myself out even at idle at stoplights.

That's because you have been moving, when it is moving you are able to push out colder air because there is more airflow being demanded by the fan due to higher RPM. Once it gets colder and you sit at lights for a maximum time of 1-2 minutes the system never has a chance to get hotter again.

By the way, apparently there has been a TSB rolled out very recently for the 2nd gens with the exact complaint I have that addresses this issue at idle only.

A/C has been on for easily the last 45 minutes.

I have been highly contemplating it, something needs to give here, and it needs to give very quickly. This is my 6th summer with this truck and every one has always been an issue like this.

Hmm. That’s a good point. Don’t have many traffic light where I live and I’m usually moving so maybe that’s why I don’t have a problem. Ill have to experiment a little.

I don't. It has been mentioned by someone in @Bebop 's thread. I am currently searching for it on Mitchell and Alldata, but no dice as of thus far.

All I know is that it is supposed to be a 0034-18 TSB.

Possibly a dumb question, but is your cabin filter new or at least clean?

Pull upper core support so you can see if there is debris in between rad and cond and clean both. Clean bugs out of cond up front. New cabin airfilter . Look over for signs of Freon leaks fix and fill as required.
