I have a 2017 Tacoma 3.5L 4X4 with a tow package sitting at 6,400 lbs max. Just bought a Jayco Jaylight with dry weight at 6,300 lbs. Can my baby tow this thing 300 miles on flat terrain?

Now what? You have 100lbs of capacity before hitting maximum load capacity and you might not be able to carry a passenger with you or any gear whatsoever.

Either the new RV needs to go or you need a new tow vehicle.

Dry weight doesn’t include added options (microwave, sometimes a/c, propane, batteries, etc.). You’re probably well over 6400 lbs already...

I think the OP is probably a one poster never to be heard from again. Time will tell. I honestly do not like to give people a bad time, we all make some pretty big mistakes in life. But I have to ponder, How can anyone be so (fill in the blank) to buy a trailer that is at the max of his tow capacity dry? What was the thought process? And then how could anyone be so (fill in the blank) to post about it , especially it being their first and only post? Perhaps it is a type of spam, I don’t know. It is said there are no dumb questions but some certainly make you wonder.

OP may be some Chevy, Ford, Ram owner who just wants to feel validated when someone eventually suggests he get a full size truck.

I find the question odd, likely a troll.

The post certainly looks like a troll post, however given the ethics of some trailer and auto salespersons anything is possible

It would be nice if instead of a one post never to be heard from again the OP came back with more details and an explanation and became a contributing TW member.

Op should have asked questions before buying the truck or the trailer.

It's probably not a fifth wheel trailer, in which case his hitch and weight distribution bars make him exceed the limit before the toaster oven was ever plugged in.

More than likely, he just got carried away at the RV lot and the salesman took advantage of him.
