I just bought and installed a rack for my 2018 Tacoma. It adds a lot to the looks of the truck but it's only rated for 100 pounds.
It was easy to install up to the last bolt that holds the swing arm on the (right) passenger side.
There is a keeper nut that is snapped into the underside of the rack that pushes out when you try to thread the last long bolt into it - then it's too late. The keeper nut should be molded into the plastic. The rack is attached to the metal base bracket with a press fit (yellow) fitting and you can no longer retreive and snap in the keeper nut so it doesn't push out. This is a bad design flaw.
Make sure that the first thing you do when you take the rack out of the box is to put some glue around that keeper nut so it will stay in place unbtil you install the rail and thread the last bolt into it.
I ended up stripping the bolts after several install/remove attempts.
When I tried ordering a new bag of bolts I found that the part number on the bag was not available.
Make sure that keeper nut can't push out and the rest of the installation is easy.
