    Well, for starters it's a really fun project to design and fabricate these things. The other benefit will be while offroad. It will greatly increase visibility while crawling over rocks so I can see tire placement a lot easier. Are the necessary? Of course not!

    The plan is to only put them on for wheeling trips with no forecasted rain.

    It really is. My dad had some melanoma removed. Didn't look fun!
    We still talking about doors? :wink:
    Oh heck no! That would destroy my interior. Door removal is only 5 bolts and unplugging the wiring, so maybe 15 min to swap to tubes.
