Some would lead you to believe this is what happens when you do not change the oil with every fill up.

as u can c the tires weren't checked either. Low air pressure caused the air dam to drag.

    Whole bunch of shit! $$$
Wasn't it the same "toyota engineers" that only 2 years ago recommended a 5k OCI?...

That was of course until "toyota care" came along.....then they changed it 10k OCI in the 3rd gens, but with the same 2TR-FE engine.....hmmmmm....go figure.......yeah, those engineers are sure thrifty...ain't they?

    Toyota care = :jerkoff:

    All about those American dollar$

I think they get pressure from the environmental regulators. Less used oil produced at 10k intervals. :spy: Conspiracy I tell ya!

My dealership wanted me to come in at 1,000k for a check up. Probably for basic inspection and fluid checks after all “WE” are the test pilots on a new car. Plus they offered me free touch up paint. Nothing to worry about just a check up. image.jpgThis is what you should go by. If you don’t feel comfortable to follow this then change the oil everyday at your cost but under normal conditions, and ppl are finding out on this forum how particular I am about my vehicles I am comfortable with this schedule. Now if your racing around, towing heavy up hills and or extreme heat daily then maybe a sooner interval might warrant it but only by a couple of thousand

Just had my 1,000 preferred maintenance check up at dealer. Actually I was at 2,700 but I’ve been working 6 days so it wasn’t possible. Just as I thought. It was basic fluid level check , tire pressure , standard courtesy laser alignment check etc. “ Everything was excellent as expected with a new car”. Got my free touch up paint and a reminder to come back around 5000 miles for another check up. It’s for the same thing except they’ll rotate tires at my expense which I have no problem with. Filter changes and tire rotation are super critical to longevity. Besides buy taking you car to the dealer for everything and building a good repor with the service writer and become friends with the service manager has its own benifets all with it shows that the only one who has touched your truck is them so no blame can ever be placed elsewhere if something was to ever come up.
I’ve done this for years. It works. Especially when you need “favors”
Bring your guy coffee and donuts when you go in works wonders. Gotta a lot of courtesy freebies that way

Why would tire rotation be at your expense? Toyota care includes tire rotation every 6 months/5k miles, and oil change every 12 month/10k miles for the first two years.

Every new toyota comes with it. They include it in the price, but tell you its free, or in your case they didn´t tell you.

You´re welcome. I just wanted to make sure you didn´t pay for something you didn´t have to. Save that money for some mods.

The 6 dollar charge is what the touch up paint would have cost, but it was complimentary, so you didn´t have to pay for it. It is just on the invoice for record keeping purposes, so when the books are balanced they can show where the inventory went and the money was lost.
