Hey everyone, I just bought a 2018 trd sport last Thursday. I wanted a little more aggressive tire so I took my truck to discount tire and they told me 285/70/17 would fit. well, I have a little rub. It only happens when the wheel is turned to the max.

I posted pics of the old tire, new tire, and the rub. you guys know alot more about these trucks than I do, so what can I do to fix this? I was thinking a spacer, or maybe a 3" lift from

    http://www.roughcountry.com/toyota-suspension-lift-kit-745c.html

tell me what you guys think Im kinda on a budget and not looking to replace the rims just yet.
if the lift would fix this i would rather do that. Thanks for your advice

oh I also know about the sensor in the grill. is there a fix for this yet??? if not, I just turn off the safety stuff anyways

if your uca is rubbing then you need either rims with the proper backspacing/offset or spacers. If you plan on doing any offroading, do not, I repeat do not do spacer type "lift" kits. Read the links in my signature and do it right. Side Note if you use spacers(as in hub) you will probably hit your cab mounts.

Thanks for the info, the only offroading I plan to do is drive down a dirt road to go fishing, so nothing crazy.

Unless you want to start trimming and cutting and pounding your fenders, 285's prolly ain't going to fit without some rubbing somewhere.

To stop rubbing the UCA you'll need different back spacing on the wheels $$, then it'll rub the cab mount so you'll get a lift to fix that $$ then you go wheel and still rub when stuffing, so you'll end up cutting and trimming and pounding anyways.

Or you could take those tires back to the shop and make them give you new 265/70/17 tires of your choice and enjoy not rubbing for free.
