So I have been wanting to get into Vlogging / shooting short clips of trucks and fishing and I want to get a camera instead of my phone .... has anyone used any of the cheaper ones? I really don't want to part with $300 + to get a "go pro" set up if I can do the same job with a $100 set up

    Thought's?

    Experience's?

    Opinion's?

The knockoff go-pros go for less than $100 and it fits in the Tacoma bracket in the windshield.

That's my point.... have you used one? how's the video quality? Was the product durable? Which one did you use?

Well, you know the old sayin'. You get what you paid for.... They aren't 4k, and they have a shorter battery life. Their ok thought. Seemed durable enough.

I sold mine, only because I couldn't use it as a dash cam. Name brand, don't remember, it was from Ebay. They range from $60 to over $100

yeah... I have not tested the knockoffs yet. I went for the GoPro Hero 5 Black because of the voice recognition. I make fishing videos and prefer to be able to tell it to start or stop recording because my hands are usually tied up. Plus, the thing is mounted in a spot where I would need to lean way forward to press a button.

    Something to consider.

I'm doing fishing videos too, and I ended up going with the gopro hero 2018. The voice control was something I thought I would like too. How are you editing? Do you have 3rd party software?.... I'm just getting into the video deal, so any help / advice is appreciated.

Editing... yeah well here is the deal.
The only computer that I have is the one issued to me by my company. They do not permit any software on there that they have not authorized. So, most downloads of other software programs are typically blocked. I was able to get a guy in IT unlock the gate for me long enough to download the gopro software. SO.. I am using the crappy Go Pro Studio right now to edit. It really sucks and I am managing two youtube channels.. one fishing and one DIY.

One day when I am not buying other crap I will spend the $$ for a personal computer. The reason I have not done it already is because I travel every week and do not feel like taking two computers with me on an airplane constantly.
