Sounds like a lot of fun! 13.7 is respectable for a N/A truck!

My A/C did something funny today. Driving down the road with A/C off, decided it was time for some nice cool conditioned air. Turned the A/C on and got the "A/C blinking light". Was able to get it to go away by turning on and off a couple of times but going to start diagnosing today b/c something isn't right.

This thread has lots of helpful information:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ac-clutch-failure-how-to-fix-blinking-light-squealing.448009/

I'm leaning towards this as the failure over something electrically but have not ruled anything out just yet so using this thread as well to see what's up:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/a-c-light-blinking-troubleshooting-guide.440200/

Gonna spend the afternoon in my garage diagnosing.

Still diagnosing the A/C issue. Need some gauges to check pressure and while i'm at it I'm going to check my fan clutch to ensure its operating as it should. Have not had the same issue since Saturday and so thankful in this Texas heat right now my A/C is working.

Took my factory skid plate off as I noticed after washing the truck it was showing some signs of surface rust. Washed it to remove all surface dirt and then sanded the surface rusted areas. I then applied Rust-oleum Rust Reformer followed by a coat of Rust-oleum Matte Finish. Forgot to snap a photo of the finished product but overall it came out nice and most importantly protected from future rust.

Prinsu Rack assembled and ready for install. While in the process of install I realized my rubber trim on the top of the truck was needing some attention so I took the time to use a trim restorer to make it look new again.

Prinsu Rack installed. I struggled with the weather stripping even using the leather punches I purchased to make it a cleaner install. Measurements were not the issue; rather the strip of metal inside the stripping I didn't account for caused me to butcher the holes. At least I didn't destroy both sides so I only have to replace one. There is a junk yard not far down the road from where I live so I'll start there and if I can get one in good condition it will save a few $$$ over purchasing one new from Toyota. I also am getting some weather stripping for the wind deflector to cut down on the wind noise as its pretty bad at the moment. I'll then lower the front wind deflector to the lower point so it sits tight with roof line.

Overall i'm very happy with the rack. Its going to serve its purpose very well for everyday things, overlanding, loading up kayaks etc.

Its maintenance week for the rig. Have the following planned for morning of 4th of July:

    • differential fluid change
    • transfer case fluid change
    • oil change
    • grease u-bolts on driveline

Other non-maintenance items I'm going to tackle:

Will definitely share. I'm mainly doing it for when idle in traffic. I've gone through the entire system everything checks out. Clutch fan, Compressor clutch and pressure's all check out. The only thing I have not done which I'll do when I install the fans is drop the radiator and clean behind the condenser to make sure nothing is clogged up. I got this fan idea from another thread and found out there was a TSB for 2015 Tacoma's in Mexico. Toyota installed a fan up front to help with high heat and humidity down there.

Got the weather stripping installed on the front of my Prinsu cabrac this evening. Subtle change cosmetically but I like it. Hoping it helps with reducing wind noise.

I also finally got around to bolting up my "New to me" OEM TRD skid plate that was sprayed black with Bedliner material. A front bumper is still a ways out for me so I'm the mean time I have some added protection to be parts that need protection the most.
