All 2018 V6 come with the tow package now. Also Non-JBL for Premium is no longer available. I don't remember the price difference probably 500. I remeber when doing research on the price difference between a 17prem tech jbl tow and a 18premtech was roughly 500, I think 466. which over the 17 got you leather and TSS.

2017 also has the power window

I never said it wasn't against the law. I worked at the distributor, so we printed our labels prior to shipping. I've bought two brand new trucks from dealerships while working at the distributor and both had modified labels due to dealer addon. You've got guys with different msrps, and I doubt that's happening on the distributor side of things.

I worked for the distributor, not a dealership. I hardly think every dealership operates in the same way, as you can see just from the different prices and customer care the people on this forum have experienced.

When I compared my MSRP prices between my 16 and 18 , I just built the truck on Toyotas website for my Zip. and found the difference in the MSRP's.
When I bought in 16 , I did the build on Toyotas website in each of the Toyota regions to see what the differences were because I was willing to travel to buy it. I also visited dealer websites in each region to see what they were offering .If I remember correctly , the base prices (MSPR's)were the same all over , but slightly different packages were available and skewed the prices a bit . Also like you mentioned , dealer addons (big ripoff )I live within 20 miles of a border for 2 regions and one region could offer a better deal on what I wanted .
Another point is that before 2018 , I do not remember seeing a TV commercial mentioning the Tacoma , and never saw a rebate on one from a dealer other than college grad or military disc.. The dealer I bought it from in 16 said I will never see one lol . now they have them . Maybe Toyota is raising prices so they can offer rebates like the big 3 ?

Definitely a lot of different factory options that can skew the msrp, such as entune, towing package, trd kits, etc. I also wonder if it can vary based upon region. I don't have a horse in this race since I got my trucks as dealer cost but I think it's a bit weird that msrp is not matching up between some models

Do you not save money with your insurance premiums with it though?

When I was buying my 18 the salesman told me that Toyota never offers rebates ($500) and that I should jump on it. Then a few weeks later he called and told me that they were offering finance deals. He told me that he has never seen that in 8 years of working at Toyota.

I litterally have no idea. I just saw it on the sight. I paid 10k less from my offroad and sunk 8k of that into a build. A pro isn’t a choice for me I just saw it on there...

I keep seeing this thread titled “reproducing my 16 with my 18” and I just can’t get this old album cover out of my mind:
