Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Big picture...............it's all trickle down.

Fed's cut funding to States -> States, in turn, cut funding to Counties. It really doesn't help when a State is running a budget deficit either. Bottom line, the boys and gals up top fuck the little guys down below...................without the common courtesy of a reach around either.

    Start voting them out.

this pisses me off because public safetly and services are the one thing the government is SUPPOSE to do. all this other bullshit (calling toyota into congress, bailouts, etc....) is not a traditional function of government. but i guess its way more profitable to the politician than keeping a few fire stations open.... I miss the days when i was proud to be an American citizen, now its just embarrassing.

in colorado....colorado spring voters, rejected property tax increase by 3x, so they will shut fire and police stations. its simple message from voters, limit the growth of government. public safety accounts 50% of the city budget. its hugh liability not just payroll but retirement benefits. city employees very priviliged few with nice pension, medical and retirement benefits private sector cannot even come close to matching. the only way they can up keep with that is raising taxes. friend of mine moved out of san jose, because it was too costly to raise familey there. his property tax bill last year was $11,000!!!!!
