If I buy an 2017 stock radio will it work with a 2011 amp and everything?

Meaning will I only have to buy possibly a wire harness and face plates?

I put one in my 2005 a few months ago... you have to be able to read a wiring diagram but it is 100% possible.... also you need to have a face plate you don't mind sacrificing.

I just noticed your thread title said tundra... The unit I installed was from a 2016 tacoma, but I am willing to bet they are wired the same. The physical part will be the hardest if you have the wiring diagrams. If you don't have the diagrams $15 will get you a 3 day pass to the toyota technical information system: https://techinfo.toyota.com/ where you can download your truck head unit wiring diagram and the tundra's. Since your truck is a 2011 I think you will definitely need 28 pin wiring harness adapter. There are several forums on here that list a lot of the specific parts. Given that your considering a tundra head unit your mileage may very but I'm willing to be they are virtually the same.

Do I need to be able to read a wiring diagram, or just match up the wires? Like, I assume I don't need to read voltage or anything, as long as I match up power to power, left radio to left radio, etc.. Is that correct? I'm thinking about putting in a Nissan OEM radio into my 17 tacoma, but there seems to be like 10 harnesses going into my tacoma radio and only 2 on the nissan, so i'm still trying to figure out what is what.
