Ok need you tech guys opinion on oil

I noticed a few oil change ago that I was missing some, so I decided it was time to keep an eye on oil level, once a a month. I do my oil change every 6.5k or 7.5k, depending on how busy I am at work. Miles goes in fast lol Then again, noticed oil level was fine, then when I am close to oil change, it starts to drop. talking with a few people, I get that when an engine starts to take oil, it is because oil is due to be changed. Fine with me. But yesterday, I checked the oil and I was a little low. I added a quart. I am still "good" for 2500miles on that oil. I know I don't leak any, maybe fumes from valves covers?

the question is, would "better" quality oil hold longer? I can get Amsoil oil from a vendor I know, or get Mobile1 at Canadian Tire. Right now I run Purezone or April oil, depending on which is in stock at my local autoparts store. Imo it is time to change. I also have 159k miles on the truck, if it does mean something lol

    thanks guys!

I really have no idea. Maybe it's just burning oil? I mean, it's gotta go somewhere if there's no leaks. I don't know if a better quality oil would help, but it wouldn't hurt. Could always try the high mileage oil which supposedly helps swell gaskets to seal it better.

    Truck stuff time.

I now have a fun vibration and noise I'm tracking down. The noise is random, and is a sorta creaking/popping noise.

The vibe happens when I'm driving at 60 mph and take my foot off the gas, and gets even worse if I push the clutch in. This tells me it's slack in the driveline somewhere, because when it's under load there's nothing and when free of load, it vibrates.

The kicker is I think the driveshaft is only a year old and was replaced when the frame was replaced. I say this because it appears to be in good shape and the Toyota sticker is still on there. Plus there's no play in U joints.

Here's my list of things I'm going to replace to attempt to fix this, one at a time:
    1. Passenger side wheel bearing (the noise seems to emanate from the front passenger side)
    2. U joints
    3. Axle shims to correct driveshaft angles

I am also pretty sure it is just burning it. I am no oil tech but I think that when oil is at the end of its life, it goes through the rings and get burn on the piston, which is why I do not notice any oil level drop until I am close to my oil change. I guess the oil should be changed every 8000km (5k miles) instead of 10 000km(6 250miles), if I keep that brand. I'll try another/better brand for the next and see if it does a difference
