Boot slide mod help

2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road 6 speed manual

i can’t find the post now but a while back I saw someone did a boot slide mod without all the cutting up of the old boot to use as a retainer etc.

How many of you have just done a boot slide with the cvs still on the truck? Specifically, cut the clamp, slid / stretched the boot, and put on a new clamp.
