I got the air bag kit and compressor kit for $560 out the door from SDTruck Springs. Pretty easy install, they claim they will support 5k lbs.

Air bags are just one option, you could also get a heavier leaf pack.

but you cant let air out of a leaf pack to soften the ride when not needed.

5k on top of what Tacomas already hold? Which is like what, 6-7k?

The air bags can support that,I didn’t say our Tacoma’s could. I’d be hard pressed to try and put more than 2k lbs on my truck at the most.

I really do not know how much this load weighs but that wood is awful green and it didn't squat down the ass end of the truck so much as a quarter of an inch, it felt nice and solid going down the road, no bobin or weavin, no squish at all.

Yeah but they aren't going to get any weight until the leaf springs start to sag, right?

When the bags are infated they will take more weight than the leaf springs.

Nice... Did you use the spacer kit with your bags? I received a kit but didn’t install it. What kind of wood?

The bags set on top of the leaf springs and bolts on to the frame. When the bags are inflated it’s raising the truck up via the frame being raised .

This camper + 80 liters of water, 200lbs of wood, bbq and all of our camping supplies, and me my girlfriend and our friend. I have a sneaking suspicion I was a wee bit over 3500 lbs lol

Our 2nd gen Tacomas capacity is 6500lbs which is plenty it is said that 7000lbs for quick smooth trips is ok but not recommended. I personally have had 3200lbs and my truck has done just fine like it should with stock off-road suspension and the leveling kit that came on it.
