Traded my son’s ‘10 SR5 ($14K trade-in) for a new OR DCSB for me. (In turn, I passed along to him my ‘15 SR5.) The $14K on the trade-in was less than what I wanted, but be that as it may I see now that the dealer is listing it for 20K, photo from their lot

Main thought is how well these trucks hold their value.

Also, how cool the trucks continue to look over the years.

    I have a Gashole
    I traded my '10 for a '17. It had 62K on it.
I hit a pole with the front driverside fender and did $5K in damage. I had toyota do all the repair work using only toyota parts.
I was given $17K on the trade because of the accident. KBB at the time without the accident would have been close to $18K.
I think I paid $22-24K for it originally. Also was an SR5
Totally insane how they hold their value.

I don’t really worry how well they hold their value, but I do worry how well they’re likely to hold up mechanically wise.
Reason being, if they can hold up to the test of time mechanically, value will surely follow.

I’m looking at mine now (’16) and looking at all the good expensive crap that gets added on to every model year and thinking that at some point its going to get ridiculous to the point that riding a horse will make more horse sense price wise.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!
