I just did some easy air upgrades to the front and rear bumper. Now I just need to run my 6' choke instead of getting the lines. So nice. I also have started on upgrading my electrical wiring under the hood to all the accessories. Next will be the secondary battery install.

I did the work but one of my boat painters instructed me. You will need a close cell 3” foam roller and I used enamel red (very small amount need, so even a small model paint like Testor is sufficient). I got the roller at Home Depot. Next lightly sand with a sand paper on a flat block of wood. I used sticky back 120G. All you want to do is lightly sand the face of the raised lettering and emblem. Wipe the dust with clean cloth or micro cloth. I poured a small amount of paint on a paper plate and lightly rolled the roller like you would on a paint tray. Then lightly kiss the raised parts with the roller. The key to doing it right is “lightly”. Start with a light coat and build up. “Do not” press hard or you will ooze paint over the raised lettering and onto the cover. Just in case, have some Q-Tips and isopropyl alcohol available to do some quick clean up in case you do get paint on the cover. This is very easy and I did everything in less than ten minutes but be patient and don’t hurry.

My only concern with the roll up Velcro covers is I see a lot of trucks with them permanently rolled up because the Velcro wore out. I am not sure about how long that takes though. And I think you said something about security earlier. My policy is the same as a soft top jeep. If i put a lock on the tail gate then they will just cut the cover open, so I don't keep anything back there thats more expensive than the cover its self when parking in public. But I also don't go a lot of places where crime is prevalent. Not much for the big city here.

It not really just for a spot to grab. It's for people that don't like finger prints or spots on the door when they close them.
Idk where he got his but I know Jam handle makes something similar or might make it. His look likes better quality

Who wants to help pick my next shell? Here are my options...My truck is silver in color

1st: Snugtop with Roof Racks and Windoors $700 (local to home)

2nd: Snugtop with roof tracks and sliding windows $425 (over 4 hour drive away)

    3rd: Vision Hi-Rise Shell $460 (2 hour drive away)

4th: Leer with weird windows and roof racks $800 (local to home)

I do have a RTT and awning I carry almost 24/7 on my truck. If I got the hi-rise, I’d sell my RTT and just build out the shell, and attach racks up top to haul surfboards. And please, if you know where these are...Let me have my first dibs :)

Thank You both, Great video, and info on cleaning products, when in MN I would wipe down my engine every week, so it never really got real dirty, I didn't know that about "Simple Green" so I will be careful in what I choose. again Great Video. Thanks

Just expensive! And if I crack a window, it’s gonna be one expensive fix too.

I have the Leer XQ (#4). I like the look of the windows, but they only open a crack and don't allow any airflow into the back.

While bed stiffeners are relatively basic, there are key design reasons I chose Total Chaos over others. Writeup to follow.
