What offset/backspacing are people running with 265/70-R17? Any rubbing issues? Trimming needed?

I'm looking at installing a 2" lift and needing to order wheels soon. Thanks in advance.

I've got 4.30" backspacing, only had to trim a little plastic before my lift, haven't rubbed since

Been wanting some ray 10 bad but I’ve struck out last two times they’ve been in stock I’ve given up.

I did E range. Kinda odd thing is, if you go to Nitto web site the 265/70/17 in C range are a little bit bigger in diameter by 1/4inch, but the C and E weigh pretty close to the same. I did E because I usually off road on rocks and sharp shale so I wanted a tough side wall. I checked out both before and the E is for sure a tougher sidewall. You can hardly flex it. I run 55psi in them they are rated for 80psi max. Surprisingly it’s a pretty comfortable ride. Feels just a bit stiffer then my 275 KO2 E rated.

I figured for the same weight why not go for the tougher tire

That is my dilemma right now. I want 285s, but don't want to have to cut and deal with the loss in power and mpg. 275s would be great, but limited options. I think 265s are the smartest choice, however the C range is intriguing since it is listed as a taller tire.

I'm running 255/75/17s right now, so going to 265s will be a smaller diameter tire.

I'm having a hard time understanding how Nitto lists the two tires at the same weight. 55#s is crazy for a 6 ply 265. My 6 ply 255s are only 47#s. I like how the c range ko2 is only 45#s. However, I'm running ko2's on my work truck, and I'm not that impressed with them... Especially for the price.

I understand about the weight. I double checked through tiresize.com and they listed the same specs. But they may get that info from Nitto. If you lived closer I would let you take the truck out for a spin. I will say I am kinda surprised about how well the RGs corner on pavement. For as stiff a tire as it feels when you puts your hands on it, it acts very well.

Thanks for all of the info! It looks like bbwheelsonline has a decent deal on the nittos, I might just need to suck it up and swoop up a set.

Here is a shot of 265/70 17 Cooper ST Maxx tires on a 3" lift. They look just a tad small.

I think it also depends on the wheel's offset that make a big difference. The tucked in look makes it all look smaller imo.

Nice. Have you had any issues with this setup? ECGS needed? Vibrations? Do you think 275/70r17 would fit if mounted on your rims? Thanks

Nice setup as well. Think you could run 275/70r17's. Any issues with the lift? I'm wondering if I have to stay at 2" or less to avoid issues such as vibrations etc?

No issues at all, just made a 200 mile round trip yesterday averaging 21mpgs at about 70mph.

I had the ECGS bushing installed as a preventive measure for peace of mind when the lift was installed so no vibes to worry about.

275/70/17 tires would fit but I'm not happy with the limited selection or the only choice is the heavy E load, recommend you look into 255/75/17 tires that are almost as tall (0.10 inch difference), better tire selection (including BFG KO2), won't rub the UCA due to the width and also can be had in C load. You want stance of a 285 or 275 then change the wheel offset or add a small spacer.

No pics yet, but I'm wrapping my Ray10s with 265 70 17s. I just ordered tires yesterday.

Larger tires LOOK fantastic, but there's just too much involved to get them to perform as well as they look. Some day I'll regear and CMC and all that good stuff to run bigger tires, probably 34s, but not for a long while yet.
