    Yep.

This thread will undoubtedly make the rounds through all the other ideas (including bench racers stating the tune is just a placebo).

    OP, you've been warned lol.

Check out the Ovtune review thread and make your decision from there.

OVtune and a regear (if money isnt an issue) should make the truck feel much more peppy

Wondering if you had an inadequate test drive time, so this is a surprise issue for you?

Or did you just assume there was a cure w/o research pre purchase?

This is the right answer. Note the bold parts, as they are important.

Of course another option is to push the loud pedal harder.

Test drive time was fine. I tried the trdpro first. And then the trd sport and decided that for the almost $10,000 difference I'd just go with the sport. Nothing wrong with the vehicle it self just crave more power.

Ovtune is also working on turbo build (twin and single versions IIRC) if that's the kind of extra power you're looking for.

There is a well know member @fatfurious2 (I think) on here that uses a Prius to tow his truck, oh wait that's just to help with his winch.

    Edit: it's @Subway4X4

Yeah I was originally looking into doing a turbo or super charger even but its seems as if there's nothing currently available for these atkinson cycle engines. So I was thinking about starting with a cold air intake and a dual cat back exhaust. Maybe new headers even. Just not sure how much that's really going to do.

    Paint flames down the sides.

But for real, OVTune, regear, turbo or supercharger. I dont believe there are specific kits made for 3rd Gen Tacomas yet, so if you want to be a pioneer and create one, let everyone know your results.

The supercharger is in development. Save your pennies.

Also cold air intake won't do anything

It's going to make you feel like you are putting out more power, but you are going to get little to no gains in the range you are going to be driving at. Ultimately it is your truck and if you want it to sound better, pull the trigger on them. But honestly they are going to hurt your wallet and not give you what you are actually seeking.

Open the hood and take a peek.

You'll see you already have a CAI. And exhaust manifolds that are a touch on the different side, as the collector is integrated with the head.

Consider a Tundra if you really have to scratch the power itch. Because other than what's already been mentioned, you could be waiting a long time.

Oh, I am sure you will learn. I expect you will get schooled, kind of the way folks get hazed into TW.
