What kind of driving record do they look for? Do you happen to know if uber covers salem as well? I might try driving for them if they do to help cover payments, new projects, extra cash, etc.

Speeding tickets. Car accidents. Etc. just want to make sure your not a liability. I passed wth three speeding tickets on my record this year. 5 total.
No clue for Salem, and agreed that's what I do with the money.

I do uber in Seattle... I find the real key is to only work when the rates go up. Events are real cool. I do it in my Tacoma, no problems. It was a friggin lifesaver when I got laid off for a month.

Well I looked in to it and found out they started Uber in Salem then the city put a stop to it. So I guess no Uber for me.

Keep and eye out. It's become so popular in Portland. I wouldn't be surprised if Salem allows it in the near future.
Also I will be in Salem later today. Any recommendations on a nice place to eat? Taking an old friend on a date when she gets off work.

I drive for Uber once in awhile, and it's not bad. Meet a lot of cool people. Definitely not something to do full time driving a Tacoma, but I like it.

I'm not too sure about places in Salem. I usually just stick to places like mcmenamins or the ram.

And that right there is the American dream lol

Do you guys know if tips are 100% driver take-home (other than taxes)? I can't imagine Lyft takes 20% of that also?

I just went through the approval process with Lyft. Yes, tips are 100% yours. Although their cut has gone up to 25%

How do you report your income when filing taxes? I made about $8 trying out Uber Eats for an hour. Do I just print out the statement and bring it to the tax preparer? Do I need to fill out a 1099 or is that only if I made more than $600?

If you make less than $600 per quarter, no quarterly tax filing is necessary. If more, you are supposed to file estimated quarterly taxes. I used to Uber and Lyft in my Honda CR-V and have registered my Tacoma but doubt that I do it much. Unless prices are surging, it really isn't worth it.

Can’t you take sticker off when you don’t drive?

What does initial vehicle inspection consist of?
