Was washing the rear of my truck under the passenger side near the rear suspension and i saw this dance across the ground. Cant seem to find anything missing or see anything matching on the other side. Any idea what it is?

It would help to have something in the image to give a sense of scale such as a horseshoe, harmonica, coin, or even a ruler, maybe even the actual dimension(s) stated. Anyway, best guess is it a routing, or rotary grinding bit/burr for a micro grinder.

If the shaft is hex shaped (hard to tell) it could be a allen head key for a Thule(?) roof rack with the handle broken off.
I suspect the end with the splines once had a plastic handle or thumbwheel type deal pressed onto it.

Did you ever figure it out? It does look like a bit to a Dremel tool. I hope someone is not up to nogood cutting things in the neighborhood.
