What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Finally got around to wiring up the canopy I bought from a TW member 2 months ago. I love wrenching, but wiring and any electrical work is not my cup of tea.

I just bought a set of the those Rigid d-series pro's on the left to use as ditch lights. How'd they handle being turned into podcicles?

I hope that wire isn't run between the bedside and the plastic... If it is you likely end up with the movement and flex of the bedside damaging the wire... You would be better off drilling a hole for the wires to run through along with some wire loom

 

I put it on a few months ago love it so far, went on pretty easy and looks good for the money!

 

Nice! I got all my Bilstein 5100’s and Eibach coils ready to go and would rather learn something than take it to the shop. I seen one YouTube video tutorial but go head and do a write up LOL

 

It is. I'm ashamed that common sense didn't tell me that, so thank you for pointing it out!! I'll charge the drill and get it done right in the morning. This is why I post my work, figured if I royally fuck anything up one of you gurus will catch it

 

Figured i wasnt the only one looking at this and raising an eyebrow!

Dont feel bad, saw a "custom" trailer harness wire setup today on a Rav4, zip tied along the underbody to brake lines and coming to a rest rubbing on the back spring arm/control arm. Then they finished it off by letting the wire dangle 5 inches from the ground with the butt connectors exposed. one good MA winter and it will be "Customer states trailer lights dont work when trailer is plugged in, please advise"

Support the lower control arm with a jack and mark the alignment cams on the front and back side. Then start removing:
1) two 19mm bolts that connect the lower ball joint assembly to the steering knuckle
2) loosen the lower control arm mounting bolts, don't remove it. Get it loose enough that it can swing.
3) remove the 7mm top nut, common known as the "jesus nut" lol

Then lower the jack SLOWLY and the springs will decompress. You can now unbolt the strut from the lower control arm and remove that bitch!

It came with one. It was not in place so I could tighten it up.

Got the bumper installed this morning.

 

Easily +5 Armour, including resistance to earth elementals.

Hate to be the guy who just criticizes everyone, but you might want a bit more gap between the bumper and body... My experience with my bumper leads me to believe the body mounts allow 1/2“ to 1“ of movement between body and frame... Would hate for your bumper to damage your paint / body work

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong

Finished one side of the ditch tracks for my AC. Not too bad once I loosened some of the bolts and shifted the side curtain air bags out of the way. Only needed a single diaper change.

 

Its on the list to do. I did this last summer, so it only lasts so long. I am looking for OEM headlights in really good condition.
