    Okay all,

I have an Alpine CDE-HD149BT and I just got a Samsung Galaxy S9. Now, the feature that I'm looking for, I had when I had an S5, but haven't had since. It would be nice to have though, as all my music is on my phone. The feature is the "Menu" button/knob. I use PowerAmp as my music player, so please keep that in mind.

What is supposed to happen is, I press the Vol. knob, up pops the selector for what music program I'd like. Press it, and it takes me to a menu of "Songs/Albums/Artists". It's not doing that. When I press the knob, the PowerAmp line pops up, but I can get no further. I'm on the latest bluetooth firmware on the deck, and on the phone. The phone supports the two codecs of the deck, AVRCP and A2DP, AVRCP is the right version, 1.4.

I've tried various things to make this work. I've made Poweramp the default player, I've cleared cache on the phone, I've tried different music players, including Samsung's.

I'm lost. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

My wife's iPhone 7 works beautifully, and with a little work, that I've tried on my phone, my daughter's HTC10 works too.

Well, Samsung and Alpine came up with "We don't know." So any thoughts would be appreciated.
