Why no power drivers seat in 3rd Gen ?

    As a retired engineer I am surprised Toyota does not offer a "power drivers seat" option in the 3rd Gen of the Tacoma.
    Common sense would say to "save time & money" by making the floorpans/seat tracks of the 4Runner and Tacoma quad cab the exact same parts and design specs, which would mean you could offer a power drivers seat option.
    Has anyone heard of a "power drivers seat" as an upcoming option ?

    I have wondered about this myself. My wife's '10 base model Highlander has power driver's seat, but my '18 Taco doesn't.

    This subject is a can of worms opened many times on here.


    I mean GM cars had power seats back in the 70’s. Hell maybe even the 60’s. When did a Toyota first get power seats? Somewhere in the 90’s? Not sure if they like to keep engineering simple, or just like to be cheap and more profitable

    Yeah that was a head scratcher for me too but obviously not a deal breaker since they are still outselling everyone else. I really don't care since I'm the only one that drives it and I never need to move the seat.
