new old guy from reno

Hi all, I'm new to forum and to toyotas, and semi-new to reno; retired le, and mostly retired defensive firearms instructor.

Had a forester about 15 years, will get into a new loaded taco OR within the year or so, 401k willing. God willing, it will be my last vehicle, as I tend to keep them about 15-20 years.

Don't know the offroading in this area, nor OR camping, nor good places to get mods mounted when I get the truck. Would like to get front/back winch-ready bumpers, winch, bed rack, hardtop RT. Not considering suspension changes yet. I'm thinking mostly OR overnights and wandering around, lite fly fishing, and hunting if the planets and tags aligned and my joints hold up. Otherwise, nothing particularly challenging, as I'll probably be alone most of the time. Safety, reliability and ability to recover myself will be tops on the priority list.
