Unless you got extra money laying around and it'll make you sleep better at night, the guidelines in the manual are proven to be good to go.

Yeah that original plan of yours sounds overkill...just me but once I buy my cars they won’t see the dealer unless something catastrophic happens. One trip to buy at the dealer is enough lol

oil changes before the service schedule are not needed unless you're operating in special heavy use circumstances which the manual calls out oil changes at 5,000 intervals.
any sooner and you're throwing away money. This isnt an engine from 20-30 years ago. internal tolerances, metallurgy, and oils have all changed greatly. throw out the old mentality of frequent oil changes and get with the new norm of 10,000. Its been proven by numerous oil tests posted here its fine and toyota wouldn't risk their reputation of reliability on saving you a couple of oil changes.

Your "hot" ambient temperature has no real importance in this vehicle as the oil is synthetic 0W-20. The viscosity index is of this oil is extremely flat whether you are in Alaska in the winter or Baja in the summer. You also have no need to change until 10K miles because A) this is not the 1970's and B) they build around 50K of these engines a month. There is no break in, there is no "what's up" with this engine. They run them, drain them and refill them before they ever get put in the truck, which is why they are so damn dependable. You get in and drive til 10K. Toyota probably has a little bit better assembly and process than you do lol. There are many many oil sample reports floating around here from Blackstone from guys like you that show the oil is just fine for 10K oil change intervals. If you are smarter than the engineers who designed it then change it out whenever you "feel" like it. Diffs are good for a long time. Rear shaft is sealed. Transmission is sealed on the auto. Run it a few miles every month is 4WD to keep the actuators from sticking. Welcome to Tacomaworld!

While I am no master mechanic this post is most likely to be accurate based on actual posted test results from owners, and of course, Toyota's track record for figuring out how to make engines last a very long time.

If you want some middle ground and piece of mind maybe I'll tell you to change your oil on your own but leave your filter in for the full run of 10k. That'll save you some coin (and some annoyance of dealing with this silly filter) and still let you sleep better at night.

    As for me? 10k.

Have you ever heard of a failure caused by an oil brand? All well known brands are just fine. Please don't fall for marketing hype.

I usually get the Mobil 1 from Wal-Mart too and then do the $12 Rebate they offer a couple times a year

Did first oil change at 1500 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic & oem filter of course, next change was at 5,000. I’m sure you’d be fine waiting until service is due, but I like to be meticulous with servicing.
