so the Hi Rise Bars are easy to uninstall, but I’d prefer to keep the tri fold installed.

Should I buy a bike carrier for the hitch or is it possible to fit a bike in the back with the tailgate down on a double cab short bed?

Just trying to do as little work as possible I guess lol

A little unrelated, but I'm looking at getting the KB Voodoo Hi Rise Bars as well.

Does any water leak into your cover with the bars under it?

I have a camper shell and use a hitch carrier for my dirtbike. The bike stays on very stable with some ratchet straps.

Cool I’m with that, what hitch carrier do you use?

Rage brand hitch carrier. They make a single and a double, I don't know if the hitch can take the weight of two bikes.

I don't think you could fit that in the bed (with the tonneau folded) even in a LB. I don't really care for the hitch carriers, personally. That's a lot of weight back there. Small HF trailers are cheap and more preferable.
