To this quite straight forward mod I can only advise to use good quality and high power amber LED bulbs. I mean don't fall for marketing BS like 1000lm or 60W. What I've seen so far the brightest available orange T10-socket bulb is less than 2W with close to half of the stock brightness (incandescent 25W in 1156 socket).

I run 4.2W 1156 Amber LED bulbs in my stock blinker housings (I used LED compatible flasher so I don't need no stinking resistors) and they are quite close to stock incandescent bulb. Just to give you idea, that any LED bulb taking less than 0.3A will not give you enough light for good visible blinkers. See my testing on youtube

i use this style. they get super hot so i can really only use as blinkers. MUCH brighter than halogen though. they actually make the blinkers functional

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/322545287245

They are white, so not good for corner blinkers. And believe me, do not expect 25W. If they don't specify actual power (or current) taken, the given 25W is marketing BS. It is calculated based on absolute maximum power led chi is described in datasheet (5W) times number of chips (5). The actual power is probably close to 3W. That can be bright enough for backup or interior lights (white).

One note to know about white LED bulbs - they don't work well behind color glass. For example white LED behind orange or red glass gets less than 50% light output with crappy color. For color lights (red or amber) use color LED behind clear glass or at least the same color LED as glass (for example red LED behind red glass).

2 DTDP relays and a reverse polarity switch back 194. You get both and don't have to cut ur factory side marker

Just to clarify before I short out anything on my truck to change the turn signals from the fog lights to the corner lense I just cut and splice wires from each other only on the positive ones and do the corner lense bulbs need to be changed to the amber/ orange color bulbs? Does anyone have a video on YouTube showing how to do this?

More info please. What bulbs, what relays. I can imagine the circuit diagram, just curious about materials and execution.

I'm not sure what relay you used but I suspect that the relay diagram is
    7 (COIL) - 5 (COM1) - 3 (NC1) - 1 (NO1)
    8 (COIL) - 6 (COM2) - 4 (NC2) - 2 (NO2)

If so, actually the diagram can be simplified by removing all diodes:

    tacoma_turn-parking-01.jpg

Or the same diagram showing internal guts of the relay

    tacoma_turn-parking-02.jpg

Anyway, this is quite clever idea. I'm leaning twards installing it. How bright are these switchbacks? What type of relay did you use?

Got it. Thanks for sharing. You got me thinking hard about this clever mod. I always wanted to do marker/blinker mod but I did not like the cutting. I'm more for "reversible" mods.

Because the bulb takes very little current I was thinking about using low current compact relays (something like https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=PB1055-ND) and put it inline in side marker bulb harness using male/female sockets - if it brakes of bulb goes bad it can be easy removed and original harness reconnected.

I just realized, that because of the nature of these bulbs, the solution might not work in USA, where front markers supposed to be amber, the same color as blinkers. If the "legal" marker is used, the front marker will have orange glass insert making white LED bulb appear orange. Now if blinker LED (also orange) is alternatively is switching with the marker, the blinking would be little visible as the lamp color and intensity would not change significantly. So during the daytime the lamp would work as a blinker, but during the nighttime the lamp would become just marker.

Lucky for me, in Poland front marker is white and blinker is orange. And because I have clear glass in front marker lamp there will be clear distinction between white marker LED and orange blinker LED. I have bought these bulbs and some 5A micro relays from DigiKey, so when I come back from my USA trip I'll start working on installing it in my truck. I'll report later.

    Yeah baby :hattip:.
This is as cool as you can get with custom controller and modified wiring and modified lamps. Basically what modern hundays have out of the factory... and some.
