maybe you should cross shop for a 4-door f-150, they may give better trade in prices and the room in a full size will accommodate tall guys, the double cab Tacoma will be too small.

I'd keep the AC and save the $5,100 for a shell to haul/store the equipment safely and a car for him when he is old enough to drive. Unless his friends are your kids I would not worry about it and have the parents take responsibility for their own. In addition, who cares.. I rode as passenger in AC all my childhood, sure it wasn't the best, but I doubt the DC will be much better, especially not for $5k.

    Just my 2 cents.. :notsure:

On a serious note op... I fit me the wife two kids and a dog in the short bed for hunting/camping trips for up to 5 days. You should be able to fit camping gear in the long bed easy for you and a couple kids.

Cheapest route buy a camper for added bed space.

Keep the truck and use the $5100/$5200 around to rent a van when you got to drive them monsters around. That’s some big jokers!

6' is a big kid. IMHO too big to cram in the jump seat for a long drive and definetly not two big kids back there.

Well everyone - read all the solutions and it’s the same common theme need a bigger cab, like the Tundra- should have known better. Simply put these midsize trucks are just that. I’m always conscious of mpg but I can’t have it all. Truck is a truck. I use the space in the bed a lot. So on that. I’ll save up and take a good look at the Tundra. Every thread is the truth. No way around it now, this won’t stop bugging me or solving my problem till I get more cab room. So thanks everyone.

Here you go, keep the truck for you and your son for camping, get one of these taxi’s & save money for beer and gear:

    https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/2001-chevy-suburban/6600076128.html

When your son is old enough to drive, let him buy the suburban from you with his good grades! Win, win!

I thought this would be an electrical thread. I was wrong. Buy a beater as in town tranportation for the "team".
