Ive been to 2 Toyota dealers to buy a spare tire lock (2018 Tacoma), & they both advised not. Should I or should I not? Any alternate solution?

If you think someone's going to try to steal your spare then go for it.

    Advised?
    What was their advise?

In the end, if u have money and they have product, and you want/need said product, advise is up to you to be followed or ignored. I had a service writer try and talk me out of a rear suspension tsb because it would "make the truck ride firmer"...
To which i said "so itll ride like a truck and carry its rated payload capacity safer, i bought a truck...please do the tsb, the techs have already confirmed it qualifies".
