What's up Tacoma World. My name is Derek and I got a 2017 DCLB OR. Just looking for some info about front and rear aftermarket bumpers. Best ones, worst ones, cheap ones etc. Do they all require cutting of the fenders? Any info helps. Thank you

Front comes in two main designs, ones you have to cut the bumper and ones you don't. Benefits of cutting is that it looks cleaner, but if you ever want to go back to stock it's a bit more difficult. Then obviously the opposite pros/cons for ones that don't require any cutting.

For the rear, if you have BSM the only one that lets you retain that is CBI as far as I'm aware. It's because the sensor can't "see" through metal so they have a big plastic corner which is what allows you to retain it.

The rest is pretty much just preference. What does suck is that Hawaii freight shipping is going to be fucking expensive.

Also, my totally biased recommendation is @Mobtown Offroad. They make awesome stuff.

@EatSleepTacos thanks for the info man. Yea freight will definitely suck but it is what it is. I'm most likely going to go with the bumpers that require cutting. Don't ever plan on going back to stock anyways. Is the install something you would recommend doing on your own?

Shit yeah I'd recommend it! I try and do everything myself. A year ago I didn't know much but with the help of TW I do pretty much all my own work now, minus any major repairs.

Bumper install is easy and there's a wealth of info both here and TW to help you through the install.

If you click quote before responding to someone, it'll "reply" to them and there's no need to tag someone. Makes it easier!

Looking into buying metal or aluminum front bumper for my 17 tacoma, will it affect the airbags from deploying if ever got into accidents with these after market bumpers?
