Replaced steering rack guide & spring today. I had crazy play in my steering wheel. Eventually I thought it had to be the steering column shaft but when I checked it, surprisingly that wasn't it, I may do the fix later anyway.

All the play was at the pinion input shaft. Pulled out the original guide which wasn't worn at all, measured exactly the same as the new one so I was kinda bummed. After installing the new guide & spring, dayum, all the play is gone now! Either the spring wore out or just needed to readjust the preload.

Also finally bought a nutsert tool. Got tired of my damn ballasts falling off every summer when the double sided tape got too hot.

Today's the day i get my new driveshaft from Napa. Hopefully it works been dealing with maintenance for awhile now and I need some fun. I'm hoping to go to the Badlands in Attica for at least a day. Be a really good test for my upcoming trips. Still plan on doing LT regardless, but ilI' find my other short comings lol.

Parked the taco to tear it down again. I’ll be removing the windshield, dropping the dash harnesses and welding in the cage.

What did this run you? Im getting some nasty vibes at 70mph. I dont want my truck down so a replacement would be nice. Its to the point that its messing up my pinion seal. (I think thats what its called? Lol) part where the diff and shaft meet. I just had those done when i regeared may of last year :(

Whoaa! That stance. That just made me want LT! Thats sexy!

I got a deal at Napa for$650 but it's a build on order part. I requested it this past Tuesday and expecting it this coming Tuesday. I also have to pay shipping. Its the whole rear shaft both mid and tail with new carrier bearing and ujoints with limited life time warranty.

And go for the LT lol I'm waiting for the last bit of funds for the kit. but seeing the coilovers made me feel like it's worth it lol. I can't wait :)

Doesn’t need too but it will clean it up a bit. He ran 6013 so it burns hot even with a buzz box. So if he grinded it down the beefy parts it would look better and he would still have strong enough welds.

That’s why I started with doesn’t need to.... if you’re fine with it then cool I don’t judge. :D
My first air tight welds I did here at work looked like shit but they didn’t leak once the hot oil hit the lines. If the weld does it’s job that is what matters for me.

You might be ok with 255/85s. They're only 10 inches wide. Thats my next tire.
