I live in Billings, MT and kind of stuck in a dead end situation. I work in a logistics/clerical job at a sugar beet factory and drive Uber on the side. Part of me has wanted to move to Denver for maybe 10 years now and it seems like now is the time to do it.

I am 33 years old and both a veteran and college graduate (BS Agribusiness 2010) with about 5 years of experience between an accounting job at a coal mine and my current role. It seems like I just need a bigger city with more opportunity to utilize my education and experience. I've applied to over 100 jobs down there with very few responses and no real interviews, although lots of people are saying you have to have a Denver address and a Denver phone number in most cases to be considered.

Am I crazy to think of just moving down when my lease is up in June? I know a couple guys there from the Army and may be able to room with one. I can still Uber for now and hopefully find a good job within a few months too.

Opinions? Single and no kids so not bolted down here in MT. I do have a girlfriend in Wyoming but probably moving on when I move.

I'm very tempted. The only sticking point is the cost of living, it's easily $1000/month for even a one bedroom apartment and housing keeps going up.

I'm trying to line up a move for my wife and I from here in Virginia to around the Denver area in Colorado. I am hoping to use my current federal job to secure a transfer. Looking at housing maybe from Platteville to Henderson or Thornton.

Its just been more difficult than I thought to find a slot out there for work.

Living in Broomfield and like how close we are to the mountains. We are right next to the 1st Bank Center and just jump on 128 and we are in the mountains in about 10 - 15 mins. To echo the others though we go to Louisville and Lafayette a lot and really like those areas too. Broomfield is the smallest county in Colorado. From what I read I guess they left Boulder county because they didn't like their politics.

@jschona1 moved here a year ago from PA just above Baltimore. Best thing we have ever done in our life. Highly recommend Denver.

Yeah, the housing costs in the Denver area are not going to be going down.....like ever. However, as many folks have mentioned, there are suburb locations where it's more affordable.
