Anyone ever have issues with double songs showing up on their playlist when using a USB drive? I've checked the drive on my laptop and it only shows singles on each album. When I plug it in and do a search it shows two and it plays the same song twice. Very annoying

    It's your Mac book.

If you put it into a Windows and do the show hidden files shit you'll see two of them

Not sure why it does this but ya I had the same issue. You won't have any issues using the usb on computers etc but for some reason our trucks read both.

I think it has something to do with the id3 tagging etc

It sucks. I wonder if I took it to work and stuck in in Windows if I could delete some? It's not really a huge deal but it irritates the shit outta me!

Ya you'd need to delete the hidden file ones.

Whenever I load mine is just use parallels on my MacBook

I've heard of that but was a bit skeptical of it. I don't really need to run anything on windows other than this issue now. It might be worth the 80 bucks. I'll give my office computer a shot tomorrow and see if I can get rid of the hidden files.

Thanks for your assistance. I live in the Great White North of Michigan, way up high.

That would be the stock HU doing it. I have a Kenwood HU and use a MacBook and never had that issue.

I figured as much. It's a new truck, if I went out and spent the cash on a new HU my wife might have me sleeping in the truck. It's the basic unit not the Entune. That may have the same issues. I'll try the Windows computer for removing the hidden files. If that doesn't work then I'll put up with it. I read some of the threads that talk about replacing the HU and the problems it causes with other things. I'd be going from one irritation to another. I listen to Spotify most of the time anyway.

    Thanks

Joe23 Thanks for your suggestion. Took it to my office this morning and found the hidden files. Erased them and now it's perfect! Thank God for small favors.

Hahaha be happy you posted about it.

It drove me nuts at first .I didn't get why some of my music doubled then started realizing it was anything I added with Mac. And it was when I hooked up to my android tablet to listen to music through Bluetooth at the cottage I saw it right away.

Fyi in finder press command- shift-. (Period) it will show hidden files. I haven't actually tried deleting this way but that is how you can show them on Mac. Let me know if it works if you don't mind
