After months of searching I found a regular cab 4x4 v6 in good shape in Colorado. Owner had it for 20 years, took excellent care, and basically used it to run his personal storage business and rarely had it off road (even though it has a locking rear diff!). I drove it back to So Cal the long way (first pic), then last week I bought a used Flip Pac (second pic) which I plan on restoring as much as I can.

I looked for other 1st gen regular cabs carrying Flip Pacs but can't find any, so if you know of one let me know. Also looking for info on what I might do to the suspension with the extra load, any other mods. I'm not looking to create a crawler, just want a hearty 4x4 I can drive long distances and take off road when I get there. I basically look for long 4x4 roads that lead to camping spots where there are no generators or boom boxes.

It is for the most part. That's the original paint, waxed twice a year. Nice interior. A few dings. But there's some rust underneath, the tie rod is frozen with rust, hitch ball stuck in receiver from rust. Not too bad. Also, the trans does seem to whine a bit, especially in 1st and 2nd.
