    Hey folks,

Lot's of problems this past week.

2016 Tacoma TRD/OR 6Speed with 65,000 on it. Alot...I know. Important thing here is it's just past warranty and the problems are flooding in.

It started with intermittent Bluetooth issues about a month ago, music would cut in and out, freeze, lower volume and stay stuck. I chocked it up to phone issues (Pixel 2 XL).

Fast forward one morning leaving work, growling noise comes from the blower fan when I start up, it's a common problem with these trucks, the Impeller cracks at the shaft and strips out the inside where the motor is fitted.

Toyota says parts are backordered for months, currently fighting with corporate they will not issue a recall or even acknowledge that thousands of fans on back order is cause for concern. I have epoxied it together out of frustration, it works for now but I picked up the part from the 2nd gens hoping with some modifications it might work.

2 days later radio goes completely, sometimes no sound from Bluetooth and stock radio, other times static crackling and too intermittently quiet to hear at full volume. I have an appointment this coming Tuesday to investigate.

So far Toyota has told me I'm on my own.

Hasn't been an easy week amongst other things...I just wanted to reach out about it as I wish I could be more active on this site.

The truck has been in a front end collision with full repairs made, no issues for months.

I tried to keep it short, apologies in advance.

    It's getting there.
I had that fan thing happen to me last summer and it was 3weeks of waiting even being under warranty. It’s bullashit that they aren’t making more fans. I hope the one they put in was a newer revision because I don’t want it to go out again.

Sorry about the radio. I don’t know anything about that.

Agreed, it infuriates me that they haven't done anything about it, I tried to do some digging as to if the backorders are a new revision but couldn't find an answer.

They don't make them like they used to.

My 2016 4x4 TRD blower fan just went bad today...I'll be at the dealer's service counter when they open tomorrow. Will post what occurs.

I think there's a long line of this to come with these trucks...curious what mileage you're at?

Same thing about two weeks ago. I didn't want to wait two days to "diagnose" and then who knows how long until a new came in with 100+ temps here in South Texas. I ordered it myself, epoxied the broken one and received it a few days later from Olathe Toyota out of Kansas. They told me the same thing about the back order but it came pretty quick and it's the exact same as the broken one. Riding the epoxy with a new spare in a box just in case.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who glued it up and ordered another lol, seems like that's the best option until they come back in

On a side note for anyone wondering, they listed me $1100 and some change for the new stereo, with no guidance as to how it happened...zip tied an old one in for now.
