Retired as a Master Chief after 30 long ass years in the Navy. I went from being a Photographers Mate (PH) to a "Mass Communications Specialist" (MC). Most of that time was at Fleet Combat Camera Group Pacific. I made Chief in 2001 and thanks to 9-11 the punishment continued for an extra week!
I am on my 3rd Tacoma since joining the Navy: 1988 4x4 (first year with the V6), 2003 Pre-Runner and my 2018 SR 4x4 DCSB.

In WW2 my Uncle Joe landed in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy. Went from Private to Buck Sergeant, smacked an officer and back to Private.

lol Yeah but we all know E8’s run the military.

Someone has to keep those O3’s and O5’s from ruining the chapter packets.

lol pretty much.. also like @zippsub9 said, not many O4 commanders, at least in the Army. Although I probably got along best, BS wise with my S3 and BN XO. At that point, age and TIS wise, the O4s and E8s are pretty on par.

    Just the basics
All depends on the MOS I guess. I'm a former jarhead but my mother was an AF 05 flight nurse to hospital nurse. Pretty sure if you were wounded and/or in need of healthcare the people under her command would have been quite appreciated. She was a badass in many ways.

Remember there are POG's in every branch.

Surviving 88 missions in a permissive environment is like surviving 88 trips to the mall in a busted up beater truck. The truck has about the same likelihood of breaking down as a F16 anyway.
