Thinking about getting this to keep a few things like a cooler and sports bags from bouncing around while on the highway. Already have the bed mat that stops stuff from sliding but I feel the extra little bit of security would be nice considering it's only ~$50.

    Any experiences with this accessory?

Do you have a link? I'd be interested in one also. I did a quick Amazon search and found a few options much cheaper than $50 so I'd like to see which one you're interested in.
    Thanks

I have one and use it only in winter when taking groceries home. It is fine for bags and that kind of stuff but I see an issue trying to get a cooler in it.

Try Princess Auto and get their mesh cargo tarp. Bungee it to the bed rail tie downs and put your stuff on it and then bungee the other end back towards the front. That will allow you to take a cooler and other stuff that won’t fit in the OEM net.

I was thinking more tucking the cooler behind it and stuffing the bags and stuff in the envelope, seems to be elastic from the description on the Toyota catalog.

The elastic is around the top edges only. The mesh is not elastic. You light be better off with the hard divider that’s slides in the bed rails if you want something to hold stuff up agains the front of the box.

I like mine and would miss not having it. I use it for loose items like empty bottles, bike helmet, dirty sweaty clothes...

This should do what you need for a little less ($15): I picked one up a couple weeks ago and use all the time now.

I use this for groceries mainly. Can be tucked to one side if you need the bed
