I have a hard Extang tonneau cover on my truck. Last year I tried paste wax on it, turned out that it was very hard to get out from the texture.

Would spray wax protect it and keep it dark black?

Stupid auto correct, that is supposed to be textured in the title.

There's some stuff called Back to Black that may work. 303 Aerospace Protectant may help protect.

I would not put any wax or sealer on your cover. #1 that is not its intended use and #2 most of those products will stain.

Use a product intended for use on plastics and that provide lasting UV protection.

I like Chemical Guys Trim Gel personally.

Now bear in mind longevity of a product is entirely dependent on how you care of it. Make sure when you wash your truck you use pH balanced soaps to preserve the product. If you use Dawn dish soap or run your truck through auto washes with harsh soaps you will find your products will never last.

Carpro Perl. It won’t run in the rain. I used it on my line-x avid light bar and it is holding up well after a couple of storms.

FYI my tonneau is a hard one, the panels are fiberglass.

I ended up buying the Lucas spray wax.
