Like the other member said, make sure you know exactly where the oil leak is coming from.

Is your power steering making any noises, when you turn? Check its reservoir.

When a rib shreds off, not only can it damage the front main seal, but it can also get the power steering seal.

As I found when working on @rcfreak2493 's truck.

Breaker bar on top of the driver side frame rail, and a brief bump.

Power steering resi is full. It’s def motor oil. Got it all over my hands and the rotella oil smell is very present. It was dark brown oil. Smelled terrible too from burning. The truck is currently 30 miles away right now so I have to go pick it up tomorrow with a trailer.

Do I have to drain my oil before removing the crank seal?

There was oil all over the skid plate and on the street too...also some oil on the inner fenders too from probably spraying off the belt.

You don't have to drain it.

Any tips on how to tighten the crank pulley bolt? I will order a new bolt and a new seal and belt once I get the truck home and check it out

As had already been said.... It is likely that the serpentine belt failed and the fragments wrapped around the crankshaft and damaged the main seal. It happened to me in Moab a couple years ago, luckily I was airing up at the end of the day and found it, and managed to get back to town before i ran out of oil.

If I was you, I would pick up a Haynes manual and change it out yourself.

I replaced the idlers a couple thousand miles ago, and the belt too. I did the ac compressor a few weeks ago and did not put the belt on 100% and when I cranked the motor it was obvious. Inspected the belt and it LOOKED ok so I re used it. Ever since I had a slight squeeling in the morning.

Clearly the belt was damaged though.

    Mine are gates too.

I still am curious what these shreds of rubber came from. They seem very large considering the belt nearly looked fine. I’m wondering if it may be the ac clutch/pulley or something

There is a woodruff key. Mine shattered somehow into little bits. I was astonished when I took the harmonic balancer off. My belt shredded from the pulley wobbling so bad. One of my timing belt gears lost a tooth too. A mess it was for certain.

Check behind the crankshaft pulley. I bet some belt wrapped around the back of it and punched the crank seal in.

Hey @anthony250f before you start ordering parts check your oil pressure sender. It’s located on top of the motor just to the left of the oil filter. I started hearing a little squealing in the morning at start up, then noticed a couple drops of oil on the driveway. When I opened the hood there was oil all over the front of the motor. I thought it was the crank seal but after washing the oil away I started it up and saw that sensor leaking. Picked up a new sensor and installed it in about ten minutes.

This is a long shot for sure but I've seen this happen before when someone replaces the compressor without doing an oil balance and the compressor seizes shortly thereafter, or a hose or other component blows because of too much oil in the system. While its apart you might want to check the compressor to see if turns. The pulley should just free spin but not the compressor shaft. It should have some bit of resistance to being turned but not seized.
