I absolutely hated the seat at first where I was like oh crap I shouldn't have bought it but either the foam broke in or I did lol and I don't mind it at all.

it was the foam. I had a loaner '18 when mine was getting warranty work done and the first thing I though was how firm and uncomfortable the seat was compared to my broken in 1.5yr old seat!

Went from a 2011 Ford F-150 to a 2018 Tacoma DCSB. Love the Tacoma over the F-150. My gas mileage is so much better in the Tacoma. Have about the same tow capacity, back seat is less room, but it's basically for wife and I and 2 dogs.

Depends on your need OP, o went from 3/4 ton to a 2 door then to a DCSB. I wanted something more trail capable that can still tow a little. Get in it and your family and make sure it’s right for y’all.

I probably would've been fine if I had a more meatier set of tires. The Firestone Destinations the truck came with just couldn't get a grip. Still though..

Whats the backstory here? I think you're missing a few pieces in that first pick. Kinda looks like the Outlander I'm working on.

I went from a 2017 Ford F-150 Super Crew Short bed 4x4 3.5L Turbo V6 w./ the new 10-speed tranny. I made the move because of a new job in a metro area where parking can be challenging in a full size truck.
As a few others ironically have done I wanted to reduce my expenses(buying a new house, the F-150 was a little bit of a mistake/bad timing purchase) I had a 2006 Nissan Titan that I traded in on the F-150 that I actually regret getting rid of...it was loaded up, had 106K and ZERO issues EVER.
I was able to get into a very inexpensive lease on new '18 SR5 4x4 DCSB Tacoma and got fair trade value out of the F-150. After having it for 3000 miles and having some electrical problems I realized I didn't love it, I bought it to save some $$ and get into a smaller truck. I then realized I should have gotten a DCLB all along and became a little obsessed with finding one in Cement with Premium and Tech packages...turns out my local dealer had one. Haggled for 3 weeks and got a great deal on it.
Sorry for all my random ramblings here. Long story short I hated my base DCSB SR5 and love my DCLB TRDOF. But despite that, if we have 1 more kid or if we get a camper trailer someday(which is quite possible) I will likely go back to a Turbo V6 F-150 in the Supercab or in a Super crew long bed. I'm hooked on having a 6' bed now and I suspect I'll miss having real power someday.

Previous vehicle: 2014 Tundra Crewmax TRD 4x4 with the 5.7L. Loved the truck, but even with all of that power it felt heavy and bulky to drive. It wasn't a "fun" vehicle to drive. The gas mileage wasn't fun either. My lifetime average was 13.9mpg. The best I ever saw was 16.1mpg on a relatively flat stretch of highway sticking to the 65mph speed limit. It was a reliable truck, not one mechanical issue in 57k miles. I had to replace the battery prematurely (around 35k miles) and the Entune unit had to be replaced around 28k miles due to a screen issue. Other than that, just oil changes and tire rotations. I purchased it for $38k and sold it for $29k, basically a $9k depreciation over 4.5 years of driving it. The truck was black and I'll never own a black vehicle ever again. My wife drives a 2017 Suburban, so we didn't need two large vehicles.

When I purchased my Tundra back in 2014, the MSRP was around $41k. Similarly equipped Tacomas were around $37k MSRP. This is one of the reasons why I went with a Tundra in the first place. For an extra $4k I felt like I was getting so much more truck. Fast-forward to 2018, and the SR5 TRD 4x4 Tundras are now in the $48k ballpark, while Tacomas are still around $38k. Now it costs $10k to jump up to a Tundra, and the current Tundras still have a few less tech features than the Tacomas. Tacomas also cost a little less to insure and register, so there's some savings there as well.

I don't have any regrets replacing my 2014 Tundra with my 2018 Tacoma. The Tacoma has more tech features (push button, antenna delete, LED DRLs, a better Entune headunit, LED taillights, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, side-mirror turning blinkers) plus all of the Toyota Safety Sense that my 2014 lacked. I'm loving my 20mpg average. The Tacoma feels fun to drive. I wish the Tacoma had a little bit more low-end torque and I wish the rear seats had an extra 2" of legroom. Those are my only two complaints. Love everything else about the truck and I love the cement color... I plan on keeping it for many years.

There is absolutely no way I could go back to a mid size now that I'm used to a full size truck.

The only way it could happen is if I built the smaller truck to be for trails only.

Daily driver will be full size from here to the grave.

as a daily driver i find the tundra just too big....i am satisfied with the size of the tacoma but as others have mentioned, needs little more low end torque....

I like full size truck 90% off the time it's the biggest vehicle on the road and you can see around most of the other vehicles on the road. If it wasn't for the compact size of the Tacoma. I wouldn't have been able to get around the equipment removing the snow on the street in front of my employer. Which was a line of three axle dump trucks and a front end loader of some kind. If I was in a full-size I would have had to ride around the block, and wait for them to make their way past the shop. Who wants to wait fifteen minutes? Not I.

I drive a full size for work. Always look forward to getting back in the Tacoma. A better size for everything I do. Fits down the forest service roads and can be turned around on one, parks easier in the city, has great range for travel, and looks sexy.....the list goes on. I’ll give Ford kudos for how much torque they get out of the 2.7 eco-boost, and for how much more comfortable the seats are, but I’d never trade my Taco for an F150. Besides, I don’t wear a ballcap.
