What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Even though I've had the part for over a year ( ) I FINALLY got around to doing the secondary air pump UNI Filter mod. Apparently not all 2nd Gen Tacomas have that secondary air pump though. Was there an emissions regulation that forced Toyota to add it later on or something?

Well yeah. Emissions crap makes someone money. 12-15 2nd gens have these retarded space wasting space ship things. Hope in time ovtune can create a delete option.

 

I mean really. These spaceships are expensive and they dont come with a decent filter on them?? Crap.

 

I'm trying to figure that out as well. Who has or doesn't have (based on truck year and engine) the secondary air pump seems to be pretty random.

My 2015 2.7 has one of these next to the washer fluid tank

 

Just put a filter on it so it lives longer. They're a few hundred bucks to replace.

 

I want it out of they way. It's a pain to work around with my methanol setup.

 

Yes eventually because it has the same foam filter as the v6

 

My 2010 doesn’t have one. Glad I checked before ordering the filter, lol

No secondary air pump on my 2011 6 cyl.

 

Looks normal to me.
It's funny because I felt the same after I installed the Pop N Lock tailgate handle. I thought something was wrong, so I reinstalled the stock handle temporarily only to find that I'm still looking at part of my bumper.
