Nope, familiar with it but haven’t been yet. KOH is definitely on another level.

 

I was stuck on a trail for about 3-4 hours once due to breaking down. It is fun to be a spectator there watching the non race participants thrash their rigs.

 

Damn that doesn’t sound fun. Yeah I’ll be spectating out there haha

I way over did it doing 900+ in a day. Slept all the next day. Was a cool drive though.

 

Yeah the seats are pretty comfortable in the tacoma. The bmw seats are better but then I would be shifting gears and the ac in the tacoma is way better. Plus the BMW is black and that would suck at 100+ degrees. I did get 19 mpg on average which surprised me.

 

I thought the Bestop was going to be an issue with the wind but it held up fine.

 

This was the longest I did on my own in 30 hours, SD to SoCal. Almost got killed by (I am assuming) a drunken Indian in bum-fuck South Dakota.

 

Thats nuts. I was falling asleep at 700 and stopped in Yuma and pounded 2 Red Bulls to make it home. I dont drink coffee or energy drinks ever.

 

I had a 2011 BMW 335i the first time I drove to SD. I loved that car as a daily driver and it left me chasing the dragon for a better road trip car ever since. One day an M5 will be mine as a daily.

 

I survive off coffee. I have done SoCal to Austin multiple times in 20 hours, with only fuel stops.

 

west El Paso is downright dangerous these days. The freeways are fucked.

 

I usually try to time it to pass through El Paso outside on business hours. It can get bad.
