    I know the 2.7l Tacoma’s and pretty useless when it comes to power but my brother has one and doesn’t want to get rid of it so i want to ask you guys and see what he could do to get more power in his truck. He has a 2011 Tacoma. He already got new headers, cool air intake, and exhaust. Can anyone help?

    Most regear for larger tires or better crawl control but it also changes the rpm at any given speed. If he has a manual then using the 3rd member from an auto will bump revs up(I think its from 3.31 to 3.56), next one is 3.73, then 4.10, 4.56, 4.88. I wouldn't go much since it robs top end but it will get there quicker. I've though of increasing tire size a bit and switching to an auto 3rd which would be a slight net positive but not until these tires ar done.

    If you have a 4WD manual, you have 4.10's already. Most will go to a 4.56 when going to 33's. I have 32's and my 4.10's are fine for the most part. I offset my power woes by boosting mine though...

    never drove a gen 2 4 cyl but my 99 taco 4x4 was a blast to drive compared to my 88 toy 4x4 with its 22re

    5-lug 2-wheel drive starts at 3.31 for the 5m. Op didn't specify whether 4x4 or not so I just gave the whole run.

    Your brother is pretty smart.
    I have 275 KM on my 09 and have never delved into the guts of the 4 banger.
    I plan on keeping the truck forever.
    What spark plugs are you running?
    I usually swap out the plugs in the summer when the A/C drags down my power.
    This time I put in Denso IKH20#4 instead of the
    $48 SK20HR11 ---- IRIDIUM PLATINUM power pack Spark Plugs -- # 3421 ----- 6 PCS NEW
    SK20HR11 I normally use.
    These plugs made a huge difference.
    Stronger throttle response, steady idle RPM and no shifter shake.

    275,000 KM is around 170,000 miles
