@Doozy4212 do you think the double 3/4" was necessary for the center brace or do you think you could've gotten away with just 1? i've got a DCLB so my build has got about a foot more extra weight plus all the weight i've already got back there....

Easily could have gotten away with 1 3/4" piece for the backbone. The reason I doubled up is two-fold. 1. I had the wood, and the one extra piece will not account for a significant amount weight. 2. With the added thickness I have extra bite for my wood screws (I was able to use 1 1/4" wood screws for the slides as opposed to 3/4" screws) and I was able to screw the center L-Track down as opposed to bolting and countersinking it as to not interfere with the left side drawer.

Damn Doozy you know how to make a fellow jealous! JK, really good job man. I really, really like what you did with the passenger side slideout. It is a great design that actually is exactly what I would like to do after some time in my setup. The pull-out kitchen with everything already there will make the cooking process almost completely effortless. Ok, i'm officially jealous. And i might just copy from you some as that side i can't imagine designed any better from what i can see.
Fantastic work man, real good job. Nice clean tight cuts. Looks like you made available every inch of space you could too. The finish looks great with the carpet, and the pull handles you chose look good and I think is much better than any sunken hardware. And i just love those piano hinges, they are ideal i think and look sharp don't they.
I won't start my next level build till probably winter and I now know who i'm gonna steal some ideas from ;). I'll be back, and probably with some questions in the future if you don't mind.

I got a few now though: It looks obvious you've done cabinetry or built furniture before, do you have certain 'trade tools' for cutting your panels and the holes out of some, or are you rockin a jigsaw and sandpaper? I'm assuming you cut everything, and did the bullnose (router?) yourself.
I'm also interested in what drawer slides you used.
And how is your platform secured to the bed? I assume the weight on the drawers when extended would demand it?

If your thread already addresses any of these just tell my lazy ass to go back and look through it again! :)

    Two thumbs up man!!
    5 out of 5!

Hey Brandon, thanks for the very kind words! I'll start off by saying your lazy ass SHOULD go back through this thread, but only so you can enjoy all the content  with that being said, again thank you for the kind words! To answer your questions:
    1. I have actually never done any sort of cabinetry or furniture building before. I am only 24 years old but I did spend a lot of time in my grandad's workshop growing up and he is a master wood worker (everything from furniture, to model train sets, to doll houses and even a few dozen real houses). In terms of tools, all i used was a battery powered drill, impact driver, circular saw, table saw, dremel and for all of the detail cuts like on the drawer face, just a coping saw. I don't have and did not use router either, all edges were rounded by hand or with an orbital sander and a lot of time.
    2. The slides are the Ryadon 48" Heavy duty locking slides or non-locking slides.
    3. The platform is secured with grade 8 1/4-20 bolts through bolted in 6 spots.
Again, you should read the whole dealio because I was pretty detailed in most of my posts but I'm happy to answer any and all questions as well!

Well you fooled me! I think if you ever needed side work you'd have no problem building some cabinet setup for a garage or laundry at least, just with what you have now. It's in your blood! You should be making closets and wine rooms for millionaires.
Thanks for the info man and i certainly will go through in detail.

For anyone who is interested, I am looking at turning this project into a side gig to build custom systems for anyone who wants based on their needs. With that being said, would anyone consider buying THIS system that I just built (pm me if interested, NEEDS to be semi-local)? What would you guys like to potentially see different in future systems?

That’d be a pretty sweet gig. People could pay way less than the box box stores but get something customized to their exact needs.

that's the idea. to be 100% honest i would need to get $1600 dollars out of this system as my bottom line because parts and materials were $1100 alone. Obviously this is a much more complex system but i think realistically i could offer systems starting around $400-500 based on configuration
