They are thin... maybe 0.060" or so. Flexible, durable, and low cost. Just buy them and stick em on.

Not intentionally but when you're wearing carhart bibs and big winter boots stepping up into a lifted truck sometimes you miss a step. I racked my shin and knee cap a few times and grip tape would have definitely helped (I think)

I have a second gen, but mine came with covers that look like that. They've lasted for 10 years and almost 200k so far so I can't complain. What you have is probably the same stuff.

This was my question too. I only stand on the door sills when strapping the kayak down on the roof, but even then I feel like i'm standing on the plastic trim piece and not the door sill cover we're talking about here.

...But if you tried to step on the door sill when it's wet without anything there, it seems like a good way to need to press your life alert button.

Because I may have stuff back there that I don't want to take the chance of getting wet (cots and firewood immediately come to mind).

Yeah non-skid strips work fine. Saw several trucks throughout the years with the non-skid strips. May have to trim them down a little if you get the wide tape.

Get some of that anti-skid tape like they have at pools. The vinyl type, not the abrasive sandpaper stuff.

8 mil outdoor grade tape, is an extremely tough conformable polyurethane tape which was formerly referred to as helicopter blade/leading edge Wing tape

My 2nd gen rubber mat set came with the sill covers, which are basically decals.

I guess that's what you are talking about, so I think they come with the floor mats.

My truck already had them installed. I'll give you the front two, for $2,000 and I'll cover shipping.
