I'm an avid photographer, been shooting glamour and fitness for many years now. I'm well versed in studio lighting. I love nature work too.

Some nature work. Looks best on my color corrected monitor though.

    Hello
Question: In the market for a new tripod, what are you all using and what do you recommend. Something that can hold my 70-200 :)
Price range probably around $200 at most!
Do all kinds of photography, nature, sports, portrait....
    thanks guys

I use a Manfrotto with a Pan tilt head. For backpacking its a much smaller lighter ball head tripod. I tend to keep my Manfrotto permanently in the Taco.

same here Manfrotto 055 with a MHXPRO-2W head
A fluid head is the way to go over a ball head IMO

wow, i haven't been here in a while....

as I am approaching one year post kidney transplant, I am slowly picking up camera again and booking a select number of private clients... hoping to get through my other health issues to get back to working for some companies again...

one of my recent gigs this past couple weeks...

i have been using a SLIK Pro 700 for the past 5 years or so and it's held up amazingly on my 5Dmk3 with 70-200... weight capacity is 19 pounds and it gets moved and shuffled around quite a bit on shoots...

re tripods, I've had a Bogen (Manfrotto) 055B since the late 80s, and various heads, mostly I use a 804RC2 3-way now days, although I also have a tilt-pan fluid head, and a ball head. I've used the 055 for everything from video (said fluid head) to medium format (pentax 6x7) to 35mm and DSLR (currently an EOS 60D) I've replaced the leg locks with the updated style ones, much faster.

Before perching on that rock, he/she was repeatedly tossing a stick into the air and pouncing on it like it was a snake. What a great show !

If you are referring to the red eyes some hawks get when they are adults, that is only in accipiters. Redtail hawks eyes turn dark brown.

@Frito nice shots. Young hawks can be quite tame and playful when they first fledge. Good time to get photos.
