That doesn’t look like the correct replacement. The replacement I put in look identical in shape of speaker and bracket but the speaker itself was different, made by Kicker.

That's the Rockford Fosgate tweeter that comes with the component set.

I did the tweeter upgrade and it did make a big difference. Percussion instruments like cymbals and maracas, guitars, high voices etc are present and clearer than with the OEM speakers. I had to decrease the HIGH level in the Entune system because the tweeters were putting out too much volume. I wish the system had an equalizer rather than the old Low, Med, High settings and the Front/Back levels. Given the tweeter upgrade went so well, I guess the door speakers are next. I noticed my back door (Access Cab) speakers barely make any sound. I have to put the Back setting on the 2nd to the furthest back to get any volume out of them. In doing so, the front speakers are really attenuated. Has anyone else found this problem with either cab configuration?? Have the new Kickers increased the back seat volume??

Are the subaru tweeters L or R specific? They look the same but have different part number labels.

Well it's good to know this swap makes a difference, since I was definitely on the fence about doing it. But I am now!

Be careful, it's a rabbit hole. My door speakers just shipped and I'm sure an amp will be ordered sometime soon. Lol

I did the tweeters and ordered the door speakers the next day... I ordered the Kicker Hideaway a few days after installing the speakers. It’s all hooked up now and sounds terrific. It perfect for me.

I experienced a huge auditory upgrade via the Subaru tweeter upgrade. Really quite amazing, the Kicker speaker upgrade also improved things drastically. I highly recommend both.

Nothing wrong with paper cones. Now the quality of that speaker is terrible.

Hybrid technology uses paper cones and have blown away many brands in sound quality competition. Paper provides a warm tone that is pleasant to the ears. Not a brassy sound like metal tweeters. However my ears prefer a silk tweeter.

    Happy to help!

I think Rockford might be one of the only old school car audio companies still keeping quality high. Alpine and JL too of course, sadly most of the others have sold their names or gone under completely.
