I'm super bummed out, I recently got transferred to a different department on a different shift at work and probably can't make this. I just emailed Jay to let him know and apologize.

Trying to get back to a M-F day shift before the trip but it doesn't look hopefull.

Emailed everyone's info to Jay, he said feel free to invite more people, so we must be a little short. I'll try to round up some others.

So the camp ground I wanted to camp at on Friday night is closed. Ill check out the map for some other places around there. Any suggestions. I would think anywhere between Truckee and greaegle would be good.

In looking, I think Snag Lake campground looks like a decent alternative.

Made contact with the camp transportation coordinator on Friday and wound up doing the inbound trip yesterday. Smoky up there, apparently from the Carr fire.

Still doing Aug. 11 as planned.

A Jeep XJ overheated on a climb on the way in. Passengers and gear got transferred to other vehicles and the Jeep was recovered on the way out.
An F-250 shredded a tire on the return trip.
Trail is easy and is taken very slowly for the comfort of the campers. Dust. Much dust. Lead was a stock Gen3 Tacoma.
Campers and staff are super friendly and appreciative.

Did you just do a day trip or camp nearby?

Long question short, any suggestions on nearby camping?

I'm missing the joke. Do they let the degenerates from TW camp on their property?

Just saw the hidden message. Thanks lol

Snag lake looks good. I'm gonna call and see if they have any openings for the next two weekends. Anyone else want in?

Although I would prefer dispersed camping rather than a campground. The campground I was at this weekend reminded me how much I prefer NOT to be around other "campers"

I am with you on this. Does CA frown on dispersed camping? I tried years ago up by Chester, and was greeted by a ranger telling us what we were doing, could not be done. Anyhow, I am in for snag lake on the night of the 10th.
One of these years I need to get in on an inbound trip, preferably on the first weekend with the younger kids.

Theres some areas you can do dispersed camping, but not sure on all of em.

Unless you've already gotten a site, I'll make sure I get one for at least 2.

The site I saw said no reservations, so I didn't try. I was just going to wing it. If you can get one though, I'd appreciate it.
